The rabbit
- Rabbits, which are classified with poultry, are monogastric herbivorous mammals with a single stomach.
- A rabbit's food should contain enough fibre, as much protein and calcium as possible, and as little fat as possible.

That’s why our ‘whole date flour’ product can be used as a dietary supplement. It is characterised by a high energy source through the date pulp, which provides rapid energy in the form of carbohydrates, while the pits provide fat.
Recommended quantity: *Dates should not exceed 5% of the total ration
*This corresponds to 5 to 10g of crushed dates per day per adult rabbit
*For young (weaned) rabbits, limit to 2 to 5g per day
* They must be given in addition to a diet rich in fiber (hay, alfalfa)
Precautions:
1/ Avoid excess: too much sugar can cause digestive problems, including diarrhea and intestinal fermentation.
2/ Promote fiber: Rabbit’s diets must be rich in fiber (unlimited quantities of hay) to avoid digestive problems
3/ Gradual introduction: add the dates gradually over several days to observe digestive tolerance
Example of balanced daily ration (for an adult rabbit weighing 2-3kg):
- 70% hay (essentiel basis of diet)
- 20% specific pellets for rabbits
- 5% fresh vegetables (carrots, tops, herbs)
- 5% fruits and sweets (including 5-10g crushed dates max)
